Moving to Little Rock Can Be a Fresh Start

By Julie DeLong, A-1 Freeman Moving Group

Moving to New Home

If you move to a new city, it is a chance to get a fresh start. You might not know a single person. While this could be scary at first, it's also a shot to recreate who you are. You should discover all the great activities to do in Little Rock, make new social connections, and work on becoming a better version of you.

Get Organized

Once you box up all of your belongings to move to Little Rock, you actually get to begin from scratch in your new house. This is a chance to get organized once and for all as you start to unpack all the cartons.

If you have always wanted to try a new furniture formation in your living room or bedroom, there is no better time. You can change up the colors, the arrangement, and even get rid of certain belongings that you no longer want before you put them away. Remember, it is always best to donate them before you even move them – but this is a chance to get organized.

Create "Me" Space

As you unpack and maneuver furniture about in your new home in Little Rock, be sure that you set up a space just for you. This can be your safe spot when you have had a crazy day. Whether it is a "man cave" or a book nook in the living room, design a space that you will enjoy spending time in.

Do Something New

Most people have projects that we have always longed to do. Maybe you have always wanted to audition for the town’s big band or enroll in piano lessons. Once you are in your new locale, why not try it. Find a venue or class that will help you with the training. It's a chance to learn something fun and meet some new folks along the way.

Stop Bad Habits

You might have a bad habit or two that you are not keen about. It could be that you do not dust your furniture often enough or that you smoked at your old residence. Whatever it is that you need to change, now is the time to do it. You are in a new residence, allowing you to start from scratch. If you do not want to stay in the rut with the same habits, make the resolution to change. You may also want to leave yourself notes periodically so that you remember why you are curbing those habits.

Meet the Neighbors

You might or might not know all the neighbors in your current community. After you move, make sure that you make an effort to meet your neighbors. Even though some neighbors may make the first move to welcome you to the neighborhood, there is nothing wrong with introducing yourself and taking the initiative. Introducing yourself to the people who live closeby can be a great safety feature. You don't need to be best buddies but it can be opportune to have an acquaintance who will look out for your home when you aren't there and vice versa.

Remember that moving to Little Rock is only as worrisome as you make it out to be. If you know that you are moving to a new city with the desire for a new beginning, it can be a positive boost. You may be excited to begin a new part of your life in Little Rock. Create a to-do list for your house and for yourself so that you don’t forget all of the things that you want to get done. Once you have officially moved in, you should then commence on that list.

Best. Move. Ever!
Very pleased with the overall respect and care the men gave to my possessions. Even mailing me very quickly the only thing lost in transit. Would recommend to anyone needing a long distant move.
