Protect your TV During your Move09/24/2017A horrible thing that can go wrong when you move is finding out your TV was broken. All of use at A-1 Freeman Moving Group, we know how terrible it is to to finally get all settled in but not be able to relax in front of the TV because it broke. We want to make your move as stressless as possible here in Little Rock, whether your move is local or long distance. That’s why we create a list of tips and tricks to use when you are getting your TV ready for the move. In order to move your television, you will have to have a box that’s the right size for moving your television. The perfect thing to use is the box that your TV first came in – if you kept it. If you got rid of it though, you can buy a package made specially for moving televisions from either a hardware store or a moving supply company. You should use a box that is just slightly bigger than the TV, but not by a lot; you don’t want the TV to bounce around when it’s inside. Transporting expensive and delicate items requires packing and moving experience, not simply moving trucks or specialized equipment. At A-1 Freeman Moving Group our team of experienced movers is excited to help you with your move in any and every way you need, even getting your TV ready to load. Before you start packing it up, a great thing to do is snap a few pictures of the back of the TV with all of the cords still plugged in. This will make your life much easier when it’s time to reinstall your TV. After this, you can start getting your TV ready to go. First take out the main power cord, then unplug all other connecting wires and cords. Put all of it in a bag together and tape this to the outside of the box. There might be a base you have to separate from the television so you can pack it. If this is the case, make sure to put everything into a small bag and keep it with the base so everything stays in one place. After getting all of the cords and wires separated from the TV, you can get the TV all packed up. Whether you are moving far from Little Rock or you are simply moving locally, it’s very important to make sure your television is properly covered. You should use foam pieces to go over the TV screen, there will be some in your kit if purchased one, or in the box that your TV was in originally if you still have that. The foam doesn’t only keep the screen protected, but it also will keep your television from moving around in the box during your move. Steady the foam pieces by using mover’s wrap or tape. Then use blankets or sheets to cover the TV and stop it from getting scratched. When your TV is totally covered up it’s finally time to put it into the box! Keep it upright as you do this, and get it secured by filling holes with more sheets and blankets. This keeps the TV from shifting around in its box. The last step is to get the box inside of the truck. Make sure you keep the box upright and put it next to other flat, secure items, including your mattress, dresser, or a bookshelf. Don’t forget to put the cables by the TV, in a bag taped to the side or in another box. After that you’re all ready to go! Hopefully you have a moving company here in Little Rock to help you out, getting you across the country or your town quickly and safely, with all of your stuff intact. If not, A-1 Freeman Moving Group has got you covered! We can move you fast and efficiently, and we’ll make sure your TV is safe and sound so you have it all up and running when the big game comes around.
