Don't Forget Self-Care When Moving to Little Rock

Manicure before MovingBy Julie DeLong, A-1 Freeman Moving Group

Truth be told …the bulk of planning and managing a household move often times falls on the women in the household. Even though a lot of women nowadays are employed, these "household chores" are still viewed as "women's work". And here is the reality-many women are better organized, better at multi-tasking, and better with making decisions. Consequently, even though it's probably not much comfort that you, the mighty Mother that holds it all together, will be the only one efficient at getting it completed, it will drive you even crazier not to be in control. Thus, on this Mother's Day, we praise all women and remind you to take some time for yourself, particularly if you happen to be amid moving to a new house in Little Rock.

Two Forms of Stress in Moves

Alright, there are far more than two, but let's concentrate on the main tensions--physical and mental. Here are some ideas on how to handle those strains in the weeks prior to a long-distance move to Little Rock or even a local move in Little Rock--it might appear to be a horrible time to begin a new self-care program, but it's most likely to preserve your sanity ultimately.

Moving Hurts

It can help to be in good shape when you are getting all set to move. Except if you employ a full-service professional moving company, in which they come pack your household belongings, most of it falls on you--sometimes literally, when you're digging out the closets. This indicates much more lifting and bending than you're comfortable with, and more pains and aches at the end of the day. You may be too occupied to keep your gym routine, so those tight muscles simply stay home and brood, and become tighter every day.

A therapeutic massage will work wonders for your back muscle tissue and ease some of the stress you're carrying around nowadays. If you're able to manage to plan one for every couple of weeks between the packing disarray, it'll do magic for your body and psyche. In fact half an hour in a massage chair alleviates some tension and stress.

It's not exactly the time to begin a new fitness routine, however if you already have a workout routine, don't forget about your classes--they're doing your system some good, and getting you away from the boxes every once in awhile. Getting the endorphins going also relieves the permanent stress you are feeling.

Mental Health Care

The psychological anxiety linked with a move is equally as uncomfortable as sore muscles, but sometimes it is more difficult to remedy. Leaving your home, even in the best scenarios, is without a doubt psychologically demanding. In case your move is taking you out of town, get the most from the time you have in your old neighborhood. Keep in your routines with friends--make an hour or two for coffee or lunch and keep on your children's schedules if you can. This keeps them occupied so they're not so concentrated on leaving their pals.

These are several things you can try for psychological health care prior to your move.

· Step out from the arranging and packing to do activities with close friends.

· Arrange a girls' weekend in your new town for a few weeks after you move.

· Get a baby sitter and go to dinner together with your partner. Moving conversation will not be allowed.

· Set up a pampering pedicure--the variety with the drawn out foot massage. Hold off on the manicures till the adhesive tape goo is off your fingers.

· At present is the moment to test a different hair shade or cut--when you move, no one will guess it is the "new" you. The new neighborhood friends will assume you've always had lime green hair extensions.

· At present isn't the moment to experiment with permanent body art. You could regret a hip tattoo of your old residence sooner than later.

It's alright to let yourself to be sad over a move--you've created a life and memories, and they are hard to leave. However letting the doldrums to take over and staying home continuously to pack boxes is not the solution. Step away each day and go do something only for you--sometimes even Wonder Woman could use a break.

And, if you want help organizing or executing any part of your local or long-distance residential move, look for a professional moving company in Little Rock who is able to offer as much or as little help as you require. Need to know where to start? Contact A-1 Freeman Moving Group today!
